Fire Life

APRA AMCOS 788811.

Lyrics & Music by William Price

 Chorus:
Fire Life Fire Life
Fighting for a new life
dance our ceremony
Creatures of sound...

Verses:
I got into your music
listening to the radio
you fell for my brown eyes
it was so long ago

I got into your bright fire
a single spark took its turn
alive i flickered in your eyes
an impulse to burn

I got into your pure air
your sun rose from within
In flight my purpose seemed clear
let love silhouette our skin

You got into feeding my desires
giving me what i need
My rhythm was beating deep inside
i was overflowing with greed

END:
Dreaming I create you here
wake me up in sound

Fire Life Fire Life
Woman You Should Still Be In My Life
now i am this lonely Creature
with no sound...

Song 5: The Story

I wanted to write a song in 'E minor'. I was watching an interview with Iggy Pop and he said 'he got into music listening to the radio'... As i was rolling the E minor riff the verses popped out from this sentence.

The personal energy i was feeling at the time resulted in a false love story. The verses celebrate a young relationship as it burns the wild energy of lust only to fail because it cannot move to love.

The chorus borrows from traditional concepts around becoming an adult... through a rite of passage. The lust burnt bright teaching the people in the story they did not know love.

They were not mature enough to nurture the flame. The fire was allowed to burn hot hurting the people closest to the fire.

The rite of passage come through the chorus speaking of the fire life of young love. Fighting for the love to become a worthy outcome of 2 people coming together. The love dance if nurtured will bring the 2 people and their energy into adult love. This energy must become their music...

In the end the journey does not have the foundation to survive... their fire does not settle and warm their life. It burns dangerously close and they must move away.

One becomes aware of the danger first and leaves... the other gets burnt, self destructs into silence and darkness.
